Part of what makes Salesforce such a powerful business tool is that it can do so much. But between running accurate reports and supporting complex business processes, you’re likely to run into questions or issues you aren’t sure how to solve – especially if you’re new to the CRM.

Luckily, there are a number of resources for when you need help with Salesforce. Here are a few worth examining when you hit a rut:

3 Resources for Help with Salesforce

Help Option #1: Salesforce Help Center

When should I choose the Salesforce Help Center?

This is great for new Salesforce customers, as well as anyone learning the basics of a Salesforce product they’re not familiar with. The Salesforce Help Center is perfect if you have 30-60 minutes of spare time to get familiar with the platform.

What kind of Salesforce help does this resource offer?

The Salesforce Help Center offers hundreds of comprehensive articles, videos and walkthroughs for all of its products. Want advice for improving the quality of your Salesforce data? Check out these resources. Need help training your users? The Help Center has got you covered. You can always contact Salesforce Support by clicking a button at the bottom right of the Help Center, too.

Bonus:

You can also access articles from the Help Center’s technical support portal, including trending topics that other Salesforce users already researched. A good place to start in the Salesforce Help Center is its “Salesforce Basics” content.

Help Option #2: Salesforce Success Community

When should I choose the Salesforce Success Community?

If you need help with a more specific or complicated Salesforce ask, you might want to head over to the Salesforce Success Community. Look to this community when you have an hour or two to research a slightly more complicated issue (that you likely couldn’t find a solution for in the Help Center).

What kind of Salesforce help does this resource offer?

The site has more than two million contributing members and 475 user groups. (Users can even share files directly with their peers.) Simply type your query in the search bar to see if other people have posted about or found a solution to your issue. If not, post the question for other users to answer. You can also use the IdeaExchange to suggest new features, comment on others’ suggestions and vote for your favorite one. Toward the bottom of the Success Community homepage, you’ll find links to Salesforce experts like developers and consulting firms. (Check out option #3 for more on those.)

Bonus:

Even if you don’t need help with Salesforce, the Success Community is a great platform to connect with other users, follow thought leaders and share best practices.

Help Option #3: Salesforce Consulting Firms

When should I choose a Salesforce consulting firm?

Lean on consulting firms when you need to get more out of your Salesforce investment. These teams are an especially important resource for any of your big Salesforce projects, such as implementations or integrations. These types of projects will typically take days or weeks of your time – and require deep expertise in both Salesforce and the business processes it supports.

What kind of Salesforce help does this resource offer?

Salesforce has the ability to transform the way you do business. It’s a significant investment, and working with a Salesforce consulting firm should accelerate the ROI of that investment. The consultant's job is to have a deep understanding of Salesforce's potential and how it can be leveraged to achieve your specific business goals.

Bonus:

Salesforce Consulting firms bring outside perspective and extensive experience. They’ll work to ensure buy-in and excitement from every member of your team around the technology, so that you can strengthen Salesforce adoption. The right team will also help you to not only avoid common errors, but configure your Salesforce environment in a way that enables your team’s growth vision.

Of course, this is only the starting list of resources that should come in handy when you need help with Salesforce. You can also check out a Salesforce forum, follow a Salesforce bloggerkeep up with current Salesforce news on social media, and/or check out this on-demand webinar:
